Mission Statement
Emily’s Place goal is to be a year round retreat, which provides respite, emotional, spiritual, and physical support to special needs children and their families.
Vision Statement
Emily’s Place will provide year round experiences to impact our children and support their families. To be a resource for parents and all caregivers. Provide therapy that has a child friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We will partner with physicians, caregivers, and others to provide a bridge for our parents while we communicate the needs of the child. A stepping stone for the child and his family to go out into the community.
History
Emily’s Place was born from the heart of a mother of a special needs child in January 2008. Esther McClendon is a busy mother of eight children, but the Lord continued to burden her with his vision.
Ephesians 3:13 states “Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.”
It is easy to lose heart when you are in and out of hospitals, therapy sessions, doctor visits, and trying to be a wife and mother to all your children.
Our goal at Emily’s Place is provide Hope. Hope that God is in control. Hope that you as a caregiver can keep going. Hope that your special needs child can go to camp and interact in everyday childhood experiences.
